William R. High, D.M.D.
Dr. William High was born and raised in Auburn, Alabama. While in high school, he was recruited by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for their Track and Field Team. While attending the University, he was an All-American hurdler all four years winning many medals. Dr. High graduated from UT in 1972, with a B.S. Degree. He obtained his D.M.D. Degree in 1976 from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, participating in the CBMS Program through the Medical School at UAB and School of Dentistry. Dr. High did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, finishing in 1979. He started his private practice that same year in 1979 in West Knoxville. He has continued to work with the residents in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Medical Center, where is on the faculty as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. High is blessed with four children and three grandchildren. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a member of the ADA, AAOMS, ACOMS, TSOMS, KSOMS, and SSOMS. He is also a member of the University of Tennessee “T” Club, was on the University of Tennessee Athletic Board in 1992, Board of Directors, University of Tennessee Letterman’s Club, Member of UT Heritage Club and is a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.
